Tobias Lindner became a senior associate fellow for transatlantic relations in DGAP’s Center for Geopolitics, Geoeconomics, and Technology in September 2025. From December 2021 to May 2025, he served as minister of state at the Federal Foreign Office. He was a member of the German Bundestag from June 2011 to March 2025. His regional responsibilities included transatlantic relations, as well as Germany‘s relations with Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, and Latin America.
Lindner’s work focuses on security policy and the further development of the rules-based international order. He is especially committed to strengthening the United Nations and advancing a feminist foreign policy. He advocates for Germany to play a leading role in civil crisis prevention, humanitarian assistance, and peace mediation. In addition, he addresses structural issues such as digital transformation, gender equality, diversity, and budgetary policy.
