The board of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik e.V. has appointed Geraldine Schroeder as its new chief operating officer (COO). She took up her post on September 1, 2025, thus becoming part of DGAP’s management team.
Geraldine Schroeder, a proven expert in political communication, has long been associated with the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP). She has been a personal member of DGAP since 2010 and a member of its board since 2019. In the latter capacity, she has already supported DGAP in recent years in matters relating to its media presence and social impact, as well as its relations with various stakeholders and multipliers.
Schroeder also brings extensive management experience to the position. In the course of her career, she spent many years leading the communications departments of renowned international companies and running the German branches of global agencies. Since 2024, she has advised executives of companies, associations, and foundations on long-term reputation management, organizational transformation, and strategic processes.
Geraldine Schroeder succeeds Dr. Monika Lüke. DGAP and Dr. Lüke mutually agreed that she would step down as COO on September 1, 2025. DGAP thanks Dr. Monika Lüke for her years of dedicated service and wishes her all the best for her professional future.
